Where do our puppies come from?
Our rescue puppies come from the streets and deserts of Pto. Penasco. All of our puppies would have died had we not intervened. Most of them would have starved to death because they were thrown away (into the desert).
Our pure Chihuahua’s, Xoloitzcuintli’s, Tepeitzcuintli’s and Designer Breeds we get from families in the area who have these pure breeds reproducing at their homes. We consider almost all of these puppies rescue’s also.

Yes. We provide every puppy with their own “Puppy Passport” which is essentially their up-to-date and current vaccination record, with a clean bill of health, signed by a veterinarian.
Is there a quarantine period when crossing into the US with a rescue puppy?
No.

Can you take a puppy you’ve adopted from our Rescue to countries other than the US?
Yes. Our puppies are legal to go into Canada also and Europe that we know of. For Canada the puppy must be at least 9 weeks old and be flea-dipped. For puppies that may go to Europe there is a mandatory 6 month quarantine period unless they have had their rabies shots. Our puppies are usually to young to receive a rabies shot, so we advise against taking them to Europe.
Are the puppies spayed or neutered?
Yes. Every puppy that is over the age of 8 weeks and has had their first vaccination is spayed or neutered, unless there is a medical reason to wait to have the procedure done. (It also depends upon when the puppy was received by us and whether or not we are waiting the 12 days necessary for contagious diseases to appear or not appear).
Are the puppies vaccinated before being adopted?
Our puppies are current on their vaccinations before leaving the facility. Many of them are completely vaccinated.
Does the Rescue accept volunteers?
We do accept the help of volunteers.
Are we veterinarian’s?
No. We are an American couple that came here and saw the condition of the animals and decided we wanted to do what we could to ease that suffering. Previously our experience came from owning our own domestic pets. Now, a year and a half into rescuing puppies we do have extensive experience, but we still depend on and consistently use the help of veterinarian's whenever the need arises.
Do we have a veterinarian?
Yes. Our veterinarian is Dr. Fernando Rincon Balderrama of Pet Health & Grooming Center on Sonora Blvd here in Pto. Penasco, Mexico. He is an excellent veterinarian.
Are we affiliated with Nancy Phelan, founder of Rocky Point Animal Adoption Center?
No.
