How does someone adopt one of our puppies? It's easy if you're coming to Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico on vacation or you happen to be lucky enough to be a part-time resident, or better yet, if you are a full time resident. You will have to come to the Rescue facility.
Once at the Rescue you can view the puppies that we have available for adoption. If, at that time you decide there is a puppy that you would like to adopt, then we talk for a bit and make sure that you and your new potential family member get along and are right for each other. We ask for a donation adoption fee of $100.00 for a vaccinated, spayed or neutered rescue puppy or dog. A rescue puppy is a puppy that we have saved from the streets or deserts that would have died without our intervention.*
We have our puppies checked out by our veterinarian Fernando Rincon Balderrama of Servicios Medicos Veterinarios when necessary. We flea and tick dip the puppies immediately after intake and de-worm them. We give them a complete check up then we spend the next several days looking them over completely. For the safety and welfare of our rehabilitated puppies we quarantine new intakes for a minimum of 12 days (the incubation period for some of the worst contagious diseases). Once we know they are healthy we vaccinate them.
You are then given your new puppy's passport (current vaccination record signed by our vet and clean bill of health) which crosses her over the United
States and/or Canadian borders legally and allows her to board an airplane. That's it!
ALL donations and adoption fees go to the running of the Rescue and for our Spay/Neuter Program. No one here at "Red and Terri's Puppy Rescue, A.C." receives compensation for their services.
If you have any questions please e-mail either Red or Terri at Rescue@RedAndTerri.org. We read and answer all e-mails everyday. Or you can call us on our local cell phone at 638.110.7059 or if calling from the U.S. the number is 480.478.4201.
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU HERE! VIVA MEXICO!
*Many times we carry what we refer to as "Fundraiser Puppies or Dogs". These are usually Chihuahua, Xoloitzcuintli, Tepeitzcuintli and other purebred types. Our Fundraiser Puppies can be rescue puppies or not. Their adoption fees are more than the standard $100.00USD.
